Opening at Butler Gallery in November 2026, Julián: The Exhibition is a major new exhibition developed in collaboration with Kilkenny's internationally acclaimed animation studio Cartoon Saloon. The exhibition will explore the creative process behind the making of the new animated feature, bringing audiences behind the scenes of animated film-making through original artwork, drawings, character development and production materials.

Building on Butler Gallery's successful history presenting Cartoon Saloon exhibitions, this show will celebrate the extraordinary talent within Kilkenny while attracting local, national and international audiences. Alongside the exhibition, Butler Gallery will deliver an engaging programme of talks, workshops and family activities. These events will ensure opportunities for audiences of all ages to discover the art of animation.
