Youth Ecology Art | Let it Grow! Long Grass Habitats
- Cyanotype Print Workshop

  • Arrow Thursday 21st August

Artist: Kasia Kaminska

Thursday 21 August | 1.30 pm - 4.30 pm

Location: Kilkenny Castle Park

Led by artist Kasia Kaminska, participants will be introduced to the Cyanotype printing process, a photography process made with sustainable materials, paper and the sun!

Kasia will give a brief introduction to the cyanotype process and its history and will guide participants step-by-step through the making of a print - from gathering materials, preparing and printing. Colm Mangan from the OPW team at the Castle Park will introduce us to the long grass habitats in the Castle Park and help us understand the ecosystems the grass supports. We will then create our own unique prints, capturing an image of the miniature jungle of plants and insects that are hiding in there.

This event is part of Youth Ecology Art, a programme for 13 - 17 year olds at Butler Gallery, all activities are FREE.
