In 2025 Butler Gallery's Youth Ecology Art is looking to recruit a team of young people between 13-17 years to programme a weekend Ecology Festival at Butler Gallery. The Young Festival Organising Team will put together two days of events, exhibitions, workshops and/or talks, curated by young people for everyone! No previous experience is necessary, just a keen interest in art and ecology. The Young Festival Organising Team will work with artists, ecologists and the YEA and Butler Gallery team and will take part in - developmental workshops with artists and ecologists- talks and presentations from artists and ecologists- visits to ecology/art projects- festival meetings
The project will run from June to October. We are looking for a dedicated team of young people, however you don't need to be available for all dates to take part. Get in touch to let us know you are interested and we'll keep you up to date on activities.
Session One - Saturday 14th June | Time: 2.30 pm - 4.30 pm
We will be launching the project on Saturday 14th June at Butler Gallery's Learning Centre. This will be an opportunity to meet the other young people signed up and start brainstorming for the festival. Artist and Ecologist Tasneem Khan will be joining us to present some of her work and discuss a potential collaboration for the Festival.
