Slow Art Day
Slow Looking Drawing Tour

  • Arrow Saturday April 5th

For Slow Art Day 2025, Butler Gallery will offer a day dedicated to slow-looking art activities. Join us for a Sketching Tour of the Permanent Collection, where participants will engage in a mindful slow-looking exercise and discussion of selected artworks. After this reflective exploration, participants will have time to sketch the pieces before them. This process encourages a deeper connection with the art, revealing new details and insights the longer we spend with each work.

Free - Drop-in

We will provide clipboards, paper and pencils. You can bring your own dry materials but note that no wet materials are allowed.

Additionally, drawing boards and materials will be located through our collection galleries on the day so visitors will be able to engage in drawing activities at their own leisure.
