Join us for a creative morning at Butler Gallery, thoughtfully designed to support a calm and comfortable experience for children and teens who benefit from a quieter, sensory-aware environment. This inclusive workshop celebrates different ways of seeing and making art, in a calm and welcoming space.

Inspired by artworks from our permanent collection, participants will explore sketching, colouring, and mark-making using a variety of materials. We’ll use viewfinders to look closely at images and create our own artworks, with the option to contribute to a large communal roll of paper or take materials home to continue the fun.

This early morning session takes place when the gallery is quiet, creating a soothing space with a relaxing video playing throughout. All materials are provided, and the workshop is completely free.

National Drawing Day is an annual celebration of drawing and creativity which is an initiative of the National Gallery of Ireland and is co-hosted by dozens of partner venues around the island of Ireland.
