Ceramics: Green Plaque Making, Exploring Irish Habitats with artist Mollie Anna King

Tuesday 26th March, Wednesday 27th March and Thursday 28th March

11.00am - 3.30pm

A three-day course in sketching, ceramics and design, exploring Irish animals and their habitats.

This workshop will show you step by step how to create your own designs, taking inspiration from the native animals of Ireland and the habitats they call home. We will make a collaborative artwork inspired by the commemorative plaques found on buildings throughout Ireland. These plaques commemorate significant locations, events, buildings and people. We will use this idea to make green plaques which draw attention to our native species, exploring how we can celebrate and support these animals to thrive.

By the end of the three days, you will have designed your green plaque from concept to completion using your drawing and ceramic skills and will have a unique ceramic artwork to take home.

Youth Ecology Art is a programme for 13 to 17-year-olds at Butler Gallery. It offers young people interested in art, ecology, biodiversity and sustainability the opportunity to work with and learn from professional artists. The programme is delivered with social inclusion at its core, and all activities are free.
