Culture Night 2024

Join us at Butler Gallery on Friday September 20th to celebrate Culture Night 2024!

This celebratory evening will include activities and entertainment for all the family. There will be a special late night entry to the Butler Gallery to visit our new exhibition by Liane Lang, Deep Time Dip, and our permanent collection galleries.

Acclaimed Kilkenny-based artist and Butler Gallery board member Vera Klute will give a live portrait painting demonstration in our Learning Centre where they will paint Irish presenter and podcaster James Kavanagh. This 4 hour demonstration will be open to the public and will give a chance to watch an established artist in action.

A one hour tour of the Butler Gallery Exhibitions will take place from 5pm. This will be a free drop-in tour hosted by a member of the Butler Gallery team.

The gallery will host a Ukrainian language tour of our permanent collection led by facilitator Helen Kuzmenko.

Finally the gallery will host live music from Organic Produce, Flabbo and Ushmush taking place in the Butler Gallery Gardens.

• Late night gallery opening times: 10.00am-9:00pm
• Portrait Demonstration Vera Klute: 4.00pm-8.00pm
• Butler Gallery Collections Tour: 5.00pm-6:00pm
• Ukrainian Language Tour: 6:00pm-7:00pm
• Music in The Garden: 7:00pm-9:00pm
